We invite you to explore the different areas of the shelter. As well as giving you a preview of what you will see when you visit us in person, we will show you areas that are not open to visitors to ensure a better recovery of their “guests”.
This is a fundamental area at GüiráOga, where animals are examined upon arrival, their health is assessed, and the necessary measures are taken to ensure their recovery.
An area separated from other facilities where animals are kept for examination, analysis, and testing. Veterinarians determine that the animals are in good health before proceeding to the next step.
This is the heart of the shelter, where food is prepared for all the animals.
In these enclosures, animals recover by sharing the facility with other individuals of their species. Their behaviour enables us to determine whether they are ready to be returned to the wild.
Newborn animals are cared for in a separate area. Their growth is monitored in this area until they are out of danger.
Thanks to the maintenance workshop and the inventiveness and skill of its staff, the work necessary for the centre to function properly is carried out with few resources. Maintenance activities are carried out daily to ensure continuous design, construction, and improvement, with a strong focus on craftsmanship.
